NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Launches Aboard SpaceX Falcon Heavy from Kennedy Space Center

On August 30, 2026, NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. During launch, the spacecraft transited the Sun, as captured in imagery released by NASA. The telescope is named after Nancy Grace Roman, the agency’s first chief astronomer. Once operational, Roman is designed to survey billions of stars and galaxies, offering a field of view significantly wider than that of the Hubble Space Telescope.
