The accusation centres on claims regarding the government’s alleged failure to protest against Adani Port’s sale of 49% shares in the Vizhinjam International Port.

Satheesan stated that the CPI(M) accusation that the government had not protested against the share sale was false. He clarified that he was not aware of the veracity or contemporariness of an RTI reply indicating the government had not conveyed its disapproval over a breach of contract to Adani.

The chief minister’s remarks come amid ongoing political debate surrounding the Vizhinjam port project and its contractual arrangements with the Adani group. Satheesan maintained that the government’s position on the matter had been misrepresented politically.
