From an accountability standpoint, the gap between the device’s price and its physical resilience points to a corporate strategy that prioritizes aesthetic thinness and folding mechanics over long-term sustainability and repairability. By utilizing designs that are difficult to repair and prone to environmental degradation, the manufacturer creates a cycle of planned obsolescence where the consumer is pushed toward expensive official replacements or new device upgrades.

Moving forward, observers and consumers should watch for how Samsung addresses these vulnerabilities in software updates—such as warnings about environmental exposure—or whether the company introduces a revised “mid-cycle” hardware tweak.
